Visa® Check Card
A Visa Check card works like a check, only better. When you make purchases, the amount is deducted directly from your checking account. Visa Check cards can be used at any point-of-sale location or ATM that accepts Visa branded cards.
Security is very important to us. Your new Visa Check card will contain chip technology which will help to protect your information when your card is used at a chip enabled terminal. Your Visa Check card comes with Fraud Monitoring which monitors where and when your card is used to help detect and prevent unauthorized withdrawals. With Visa's Zero Liability Policy* your liability for unauthorized transactions is $0.
*Visa's Zero Liability Policy covers U.S.-issued cards and does not apply to certain commercial card transactions, PIN transactions, or any transactions not processed by Visa. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized withdrawals. We may request written confirmation of your dispute. See the Business Check Card Agreement and Disclosure for more information.

Chip Debit Card Information
Q: What is EMV?
A: EMV stands for Europay, MasterCard®, and Visa®. Chip cards, Smart Chip cards, and EMV cards are different names used to describe the same security technology.
Q: What does the chip do?
A: The chip provides an enhanced level of security. It enables more secure processing by producing a one-time use code for each transaction completed at a chip-enabled terminal. This makes it difficult to create a counterfeit EMV chip card.
Q: When will I receive my new chip card?
A: Chip cards will be issued for new debit card requests, expired/reissued cards, and for events which require us to change your debit card number. The chip cards have a new card design. If you would like to receive a chip card before your current card expiration date, you can request one by calling 765-676-5100.
Q: Where can I use my new chip card?
A: You can use your chip card anywhere that Visa® is accepted. If a merchant does not have a chip-enabled terminal, you can continue to swipe your card.
If a merchant has a chip-enabled terminal:
- Insert your card into the terminal with the chip facing up.
- Keep the card in the terminal throughout the transaction and follow the prompts on the screen.
- Remove your card when prompted and take your receipt.
Q: Will I be required to use my PIN number?
A: PIN transactions depend on the capabilities and set up of the terminal, both methods (signature or PIN) will still be used.
Q: What if I don’t know my PIN?
A: To request a PIN reminder, please call 765-676-5100.
Q: What should I do with my old Visa® debit card?
A: Once you activate your new chip card, please cut up and destroy your existing card for security reasons.
Q: Will chip cards prevent all fraud from happening?
A: Chip cards provide an additional layer of security when they are used at chip-enabled terminals; however, there are still ways fraud can be committed with a chip card.
