Health Savings Accounts

Health Savings Accounts (HSA’s) were created by Congress to help fight the rising cost of medical insurance.

If you are covered by a qualified High Deductible Health Plan which meets the minimum high deductible guidelines, you can contribute an amount up to the maximum allowable by federal law on a pre-tax basis. You may use the money in your Health Savings Account to pay for qualified medical expenses.

To determine if you are eligible to establish a Health Savings Account, or to get current deductible guidelines and contribution limits for HSA’s, visit the IRS website. For specific information, you may also want to consult with your tax advisor or an attorney.
